Teachers To Go is looking for an experienced early elementary classroom teacher to teach all subjects in-person to a 6 year old boy with a speech delay at his location in San Diego, CA 92108. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a full-time job with part-time hours (M-Th either from 8am-1pm or 9am-2pm, 5 hours per day/20 hours per week) that pays $65k/year.
The family is looking for an experienced state-certified early elementary teacher (CA is preferred, but certification in any state will be considered) who is reliable, consistent, professional with good communication skills, and capable of writing and teaching a customized curriculum aligned to state standards for a 6 year old boy with a speech delay. (The curriculum should be mainly focused on reading, writing, math and arts & crafts.)
The right teacher should have some prior experience teaching children with special needs (experience teaching children with a speech delay and/or toungue-tie is preferred), and the ability to use hands-on methods to assist students with writing who have trouble holding a pencil. The right teacher should also have a good work ethic and be able to keep things moving and hold the student accountable, while instilling motivation and respect from the student. Must be able to deal with a lot of energy and mitigate frustration on a regular basis.
Both state-certified elementary teachers and special education teachers with extensive self-contained early elementary classroom experience teaching this age group are encouraged to apply. Teacher must be willing to collaborate with the parents and be capable of creating a customized curriculum and an engaging experience for the student. Teacher should also be capable of tracking the curriculum and testing in a way that can be reported as a homeschool program with the state of California, and work to make sure the child is progressing.

Must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, must be willing to travel to the client's location in 92108 on Monday-Thursday from 8am-1pm or 9am-2pm.
