Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a full-time homeschool elementary teacher (30 hrs/week) to teach all core subjects in person to two 8 year old children (a boy and a girl) for the 2023-2024 school year. Both children are advanced for their age in most subject areas (5th grade level math, 4th grade level other subjects), so we are looking for a teacher experienced in late elementary 3rd-5th grade. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a full-time position (Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm) that pays $45/hour ($1350/week).

The position will follow the regular school year schedule, and also offer one paid week of vacation time off. There may also be an opportunity to travel to Florida at times with the family with all expenses paid and full salary, at the teacher's option. Part-time work during the summer is also available at the teacher's option.

Looking for a teacher who has elementary classroom experience teaching children third-fifth grade, or a dynamic and talented new teacher who specifically has their BA in education and is ready to do so. The teacher should be capable of implementing a curriculum using accredited tools (either customizing existing and/or writing a curriculum from scratch) to create a holistic educational experience for the children. The teacher will work collaboratively with the parents, and can also utilize creative hands-on learning (ie: the land around the house, etc.).

The teacher we seek will be innovative and able to create a state standard approved curriculum that is engaging and stimulating for the entire school year. Teacher should be flexible, engaging and fun, and be able to make sure the kids are intellectually stimulated in subjects where they are ahead of their level, while making sure they are not falling behind in any particular subject where indicated. Ability to speak French, Hebrew, Latin or Italian is a plus, but not a requirement.

Requirements: This position is in-person and the family is located just outside of Danbury CT in 06896. Must be willing to travel to the home of the client M-F from 9am-3pm. Prior self-contained elementary classroom teaching experience 3rd-5th grade is preferred, a BA is required. Must have your own transportation and a good driving record. Must be fluent in English.
