Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a late elementary or middle school teacher with either inclusion or special education experience to provide in-person private homeschool Monday-Friday mornings from 9am-12pm at a home in Carmel IN, 46033. The teacher will privately teach one 11 year old girl who has an IEP for ADHD and a learning disability. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position for three hours on weekday mornings that pays $50/hour ($750/week) with occasional Fridays off with pay. This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

State-certified late elementary or middle school classroom teachers with inclusion or special education experience are preferred, but we will also consider non-certified classroom teachers who have a minimum of two years experience teaching 5th-7th grade students. All candidates must have a BA or BS, and minimum of 2 years full-time professional in-person classroom teaching experience in either inclusion or special education environments.

Looking for a teacher who is positive, enthusiastic, creative, patient, energetic yet calm, and structured yet reactive. The right teacher will be engaging, and be able to keep things interesting and present them in an interesting way. Teacher should also be able to customize and/or write appropriate IEP and/or curricula as needed. (Parents are open to collaborating with the teacher regarding her IEP and which curriculum is used.)

Looking for a teacher who is intuitive and able to sense when the student might need help adapting, and creative when it comes to implementing additional hands-on and sensory methods. This can also include experiential education (nature center, library, store, park, etc.) Must be good with communication and able to work with the parents.
