Teachers To Go is looking for a NY state-certified high school teacher to teach ELA and History to a boy in 11th grade privately at his home in-person, using the NYS Department of Education approved standards and curricula. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right high school ELA/History teacher: a part-time position teaching one student Monday-Wednesday & Friday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm that pays $50/hour ($800/week). (Thursdays are off.) This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

Looking for a teacher who has or can create lesson plans and can teach 11th grade ELA (English 11), AP Language & Composition, AP US History, and AP World History using the NYS standards, while keeping the student engaged, learning, improving and hitting goals. Looking for a teacher to fill the role of private high school teacher for these subjects for one student.

The right teacher will be friendly and engaging, and able to make lessons interesting and interactive (ie: not just teaching from textbooks, but using summarized slides and other engaging methods).

BA/BS with prior professional experience teaching high school students ELA/social sciences/humanities subjects in the classroom is required. Teacher certification and minimum 2 years teaching experience is also required. Must be comfortable teaching and assisting the student with the aforementioned subjects, study skills, and time management.

Must be able to teach ELA 11, AP Language & Composition, AP US History and AP World History. Must be able to communicate well and be willing to collaborate with the parents and provide regular updates, must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, must be willing to travel to the home of the student in New City, NY 10956 on Monday-Wednesday mornings and Friday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm, must be willing to interview via Zoom and in person in New City, NY 10956.
