Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a private special education teacher for a severely disabled 6 year old boy who is required to be taught at home. He can learn and understand, but cannot speak or type. The teacher will develop and teach using strategies that work for the student in-person at his home in Freehold, NJ 07728 weekdays from 11am-1pm. (Wednesdays will be paid admin time at your own location.) This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position teaching just one student for 2 hours, 4 days per week (+ 2 hours admin time on Wednesdays) that pays $150/hour ($1500/week). This is an opportunity for the upcoming fall school year beginning in September.

Looking for a teacher who is able to teach and facilitate early childhood concepts (letters & numbers) in a unique hands-on way for a boy with a genetic disorder that effects his motor skills. His receptive language is fine, but he can’t communicate out verbally or by typing, so the right teacher will be creative and hands-on. The teacher will function as a kindergarten teacher with the ability to adapt to the student’s restrictions and needs, and be able to collaborate to identify educational needs and review progress with the parents. (The family is willing to purchase and provide any recommended teaching materials.)

The right teacher will be positive, patient, friendly and engaging (having a silly sense of humor for redirection is a plus), energetic and animated, creative, intuitive and adaptive. (There will be an aide on property, as well as the parents, who can assist with motor skills.) Looking for a teacher who is passionate about helping students with learning challenges, and appreciative of those differences. Must be comfortable working with students who are severely disabled. Prior experience with cerebral palsy or otherwise disabled children is a plus.

Teacher candidates should have at least a BA/BS and a minimum of one year professional experience teaching young children with special needs. (State teacher certification is preferred.)
