Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person dyslexia/dysgraphia expert teacher for a 10 year old girl at her home in Bluffton, SC 29910 this summer Monday-Friday mornings from 8am-12pm (or 9am-1pm). This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a “full-time job with part-time hours” that pays $100/hour ($2000/week). Must be available on site for the majority of the summer, beginning in June through the beginning of August. Summer housing and lunch may be included at teacher’s option.
Looking for a teacher who is an expert in working with students with dyslexia and dysgraphia (dyscalculia is a plus), and who is highly skilled at using multi-sensory techniques. (Orton-Gillingham certification is preferred.) The teacher will provide private teaching and tutoring services for 4 hours daily Monday-Friday for a 10 year old girl who is smart, but only roughly at 1st or 2nd grade level in reading and math due to her three learning differences. The goal is to help increase her academic foundation over the summer (especially in reading, writing and math) using 1-to-1 multi-sensory and other effective techniques.
The teacher will assess and help strengthen all subjects, work to identify educational needs, and review progress with the parents. The right teacher will be patient, experienced, kind and understanding, yet focused. Looking for a teacher who is strongly committed to helping students with dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia overcome their learning differences, and who is reactive to the needs and difficulties of the student.
Teacher candidates should have a minimum BA (MA preferred) and teacher certification, with at least 5 years of experience working with dyslexic students and students with dysgraphia. (Some prior experience working with children who have dyscalculia is preferred.) Applicants must be available to teach in person at the student’s home in Bluffton SC Monday-Friday 4 hours per day for most of this summer.
