Teachers To Go is looking for a part-time in-person teacher to assist with homeschooling two children (one at a time) in 2nd grade and kindergarten at their home in Garden City, NY 11530 on Thursday & Friday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm. (The family could also do 10am-2pm if preferred.) This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time morning position two days a week teaching two students that pays $65/hour ($260/visit). This is an immediate opportunity for the current 2025/2026 school year.

Looking for a teacher who is able to teach a 2nd grade boy with very high-functioning autism and a girl in kindergarten who are both at or above grade level in all subjects. (The family already has a curriculum in place for both children, so no lesson planning is needed.) The teacher will work with one child while a parent works with the other child. Some prior experience working with learning differences is preferred, but not required. The teacher will work to teach and assist with homeschooling each child, identify educational and other needs, and review progress with the parents.

The right teacher will be patient, consistent, reliable and comfortable reinforcing lessons and concepts for 2nd grade and kindergarten levels. A teacher who has some experience working with learning differences is preferred, but a special education background is not required. Teacher candidates should have at least a BA/BS and a minimum of three years classroom teaching experience. (State-certification is preferred, but not required.) Requirements: Bachelors Degree with a minimum of three years teaching experience in a classroom (special education or inclusion). Prior experience working with children with learning differences is preferred. State teacher certification is preferred, but not required. Must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, and must be able to travel to the home of the students in person in Garden City, NY 11530 Thursday and Friday mornings from 8:30am-12:30pm (or 10am-2pm at teacher’s option).
