Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person homeschool teacher to teach all core subjects to an 11 year old girl in 6th grade and also provide self-directed management & technical assistance to her sister in 9th grade at their home in Palm Bay, FL 32905 Monday - Friday from 9am-4pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right Florida-certified bilingual teacher: a full-time teaching position that pays $65,000/year + full benefits package & opportunity for salary advancement over time similar to a regular public or private school. A female teacher is preferred, since the students are female.

Looking for a full-time Florida state-certified teacher who is able to speak both English and Spanish fluently to teach and facilitate all core subjects for grades 6-7. The teacher will be responsible for implementing and overseeing a homeschool curriculum for an 11 year old girl using her FLVS online program, and provide time management and technical assistance at times for her sister in 9th grade. Responsibilities include teaching and guiding the 6th grade student to learn from the parent-approved curriculum, and supplementing with off-screen hands-on education whenever possible.

The teacher will review homeschool topics and assignments, projects, test prep, papers and research, document instructional time, assess the 6th grade student, fill in any learning gaps, and react and adopt the homeschool education to the individual student. (Both students are roughly at grade level.) For the 9th grade student, the teacher will assist with overall time management and provide occasional technical assistance with her FLVS curriculum. The teacher will also drop both students off for scheduled extra-curricular activities when needed during work hours.

The right teacher will be calm, friendly, engaging, patient, and reactive to the student’s needs and abilities. Looking for a teacher who is even-keeled and reliable, who can connect with and relate to an 11 year old girl with ADHD. Ideally, the teacher will be calm but with younger energy, patient but with a sense of humor, and will have some prior experience with learning differences like ADHD.

Teacher candidates should have a minimum BA or BS (specifically in education is preferred), Florida state certification, bilingual English/Spanish ability, and at least 1 year of teaching experience. Ability to teach all subjects from 6th-7th grade is required. Some prior experience with learning differences is preferred, and a background in math or science education is a plus.
