Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person private teacher to homeschool a 13 year old girl who is gifted but also has ADHD and medical issues in Avon, OH 44011 (Greater Cleveland area). This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position in the mornings teaching just one student Monday-Friday from 8:30am-12pm that pays $60/hour ($1050/week). This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

Looking for a teacher who can teach 7th-9th grade levels to plan and implement daily lessons across all core subjects for a gifted 13 year old girl who is also dealing with ADHD and physical issues. (The student has ADHD, but also a very high IQ with photographic memory, and has tested up to 10th grade level on some subjects in the IOWA test.) The parents will supply the curriculum, and they are willing to collaborate with the teacher about which curriculum is used.

The right teacher will be engaging, patient, understanding & caring, yet direct, and able to connect with the student. Looking for a teacher who understands creative energy and can cultivate and foster that energy. Prior experience with gifted and/or twice-exceptional students is a plus. Looking for a teacher who will be reactive to the student’s unique differences. Ideally, the right teacher will also have some knowledge of learner-led engagement and “see it, write it, say it” types of methodologies.

Teacher candidates should have a minimum of a BA and at least 4 years of teaching experience, as well as some prior experience working with learning differences. State certification is preferred, but not required. Prior experience with ADHD and twice-exceptional or gifted students is a plus. Requirements
Must have at least a BA and 4 years of teaching experience. (Some of the teaching experience should include working with students who have learning differences.) State-certification is preferred, but not required. Prior experience with ADHD and twice-exceptional or gifted students is a plus. Must be comfortable teaching all core subjects from 7th -9th grade level. Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must travel to the location of the students in Avon, OH 44011 Monday-Friday mornings from 8:30am-12pm.
