Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person middle school/elementary classroom teacher to teach all core subjects to three children (7th, 6th & 1st grade) on their family-owned farm in McClellanville, SC 29458. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a full-time position on a beautiful farm with horses Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm that pays $70,000/year. A female teacher is preferred since the two oldest students are female. This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

Looking for a teacher who is patient, positive, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, flexible, a team player and problem-solver. The right teacher will be compassionate yet thick-skinned, comfortable teaching multiple ages and all core subjects through middle school, and enthusiastic about incorporating outdoor and nature-based learning. (The parents are open to collaborating with the teacher about which curriculum is used.) Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, and must be comfortable being around animals in a farm environment.

The teacher will be responsible for implementing and overseeing a homeschool curriculum for all three students in a way that supports each child’s individual learning style. Responsibilities include tracking academic progress, assignments, and learning goals, communicating regularly with parents regarding schedules, expectations, and student development, incorporating nature-based and hands-on learning using the resources of the family farm, and providing enrichment activities that spark creativity, problem-solving and curiosity. The teacher will also coordinate field trips, special projects, and experiential learning opportunities, and be willing to teach remotely when the family is travelling.

Teacher candidates should have a minimum BA, at least 3 years of professional teaching experience, and some prior experience with learning differences (like ADHD or autism). State teacher certification is preferred, but not required. Prior homeschooling and/or nature-based/outdoor experience is a plus.
