Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person private teacher to homeschool a 14 year old girl who has ADHD and high-functioning autism in Lewisburg, PA 17837. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position in the mornings teaching just one student Monday-Thursday from 8:30am-11:30am that pays $55/hour. This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

Looking for a teacher who can teach 8th grade level ELA, science and social studies. (No need to teach math because the student will continue learning math through the school program.) The teacher will plan and implement daily lessons across the three academic subjects using the student’s LASD public school curriculum. (The student has ADHD and mild high-functioning autism, but has been in general ed classrooms and is mostly at grade level.) The goal is to provide her with a strong enough academic foundation so that she can hopefully attend public high school by the beginning of the next school year.

The right teacher will be patient, casual and flexible, and reactive in a way that she understand the needs, abilities and moods of the student. Looking for a teacher who has some prior experience with learning differences who can allow the student to take short breaks but still keep her on track. Prior experience with ADHD and/or high-functioning autistic students is a plus. Teacher candidates should have a minimum of a BA (or almost a BA if the teacher is specifically an education major), and at least 1 year of teaching experience, as well as some prior experience working with learning differences. State certification is preferred, but not required. Prior experience with ADHD and/or high-functioning autism is a plus. Teacher applicants should have an understanding of and be comfortable with teaching ELA, science and social studies at the 8th grade level.

Requirements
Must have at least a BA (or almost a BA if the teacher is specifically an education major on the education track) and at least 1 year of teaching experience. Some of the teaching experience must include working with students with learning differences. State-certification is preferred, but not required. Prior experience with ADHD and/or high-functioning autistic students is preferred. Must be comfortable teaching all core subjects except math at the 8th grade level using the student’s LASD public school curriculum. Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must travel to the location of the student in Lewisburg PA 17837 Monday-Thursday mornings from 8:30am-11:30am.
