Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person private teacher to homeschool three girls (ages 5-7) at their home in Fredericksburg, VA 22407. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position in the mornings teaching three students Monday-Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm that pays $45/hour ($540/week). A female teacher is preferred since the students are female. This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year.

Looking for a teacher to implement daily lessons across core subjects, and assist the parent with assessments and homeschool filings for three smart girls using the parents’ chosen homeschool curriculum. (The parents are willing to collaborate with the teacher about supplemental curricula and activities, but they prefer not to use screens and also like to incorporate outdoor play and nature.)

The right teacher will be patient, nurturing yet firm when necessary (not a pushover), creative, engaging and organized. Looking for a teacher who is a self-starter who can teach and supplement lessons creatively, while working with the parent to tailor learning to each child’s developmental stage.

The right teacher will understand how to teach elementary academics, but also encourage a love of learning, independence and self-mastery. The teacher should also desire to work with homeschool and mixed-age learning settings. Prior experience with nature-based learning experiences focused on observation, exploration and instruction (not free play) is a plus. The ability to speak French or Italian or teach piano is also a plus, but not required.

Teacher candidates should have a minimum BA and a background in childhood education, and at least 1 year of elementary teaching experience. State-certification and/or some prior homeschool experience is a plus, but not required. Must be comfortable teaching using a curriculum that doesn’t rely on screens (except teaching virtually when the family is traveling), and must have a desire to work at times in homeschool mixed-age and nature-based learning settings. Requirements
Must have at least a BA and at least 1 year of teaching experience working with early elementary students. State-certification and/or prior homeschool experience is a plus, but not required. Must be comfortable teaching all elementary subjects. Must be willing to assist the parent with lesson planning, assessments and homeschool filings during work hours. Prior experience with nature-based/outdoor learning or teaching French, Italian or piano is a plus, but not required. Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must be able to travel to the location of the students in Fredericksburg, VA 22407 Monday-Thursday from 9:30am-12:30pm.
