Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person full-time travel governess/homeschool teacher to care for and teach three children (all under 4 years old) throughout the year while traveling nationally/internationally and at their home based in San Francisco, CA 94131. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a full-time live-in travel position that pays $150,000/year. This is an immediate opportunity for the current school year starting in April or May.

Looking for a full-time bilingual Mandarin/English live-in travel governess/homeschool teacher in San Francisco to take care of and educate three children, on property and while traveling with the family as needed. The governess/teacher will manage and handle all children’s tasks and logistics (childcare, schedules, meals, inventory management, play dates, activities, kids travel) while designing and implementing effective age-appropriate curricula ranging from newborn to elementary age.

Looking for a teacher who is engaging, organized, flexible, tech-savvy and physically fit. (Applicants should have no trouble pushing a stroller with twins up a hill on the estate or carrying kids under 4 years old up three flights of stairs.) The right teacher will be a team player, self-starter, and problem solver who is excited about adapting education to real-world contexts, including location and culture. Candidates should have strong communication and organizational skills, and must be comfortable traveling with the family and teaching on the go in a travel environment.

The right governess/teacher will have experience caring for multiple young children simultaneously, and the proven ability to create age-appropriate educational plans and activities. Teacher candidates should be able to show examples of customized curricula they have designed for early childhood (ages 3 and under). Prior experience in formal educational settings as well as homeschooling, microschooling or world schooling would be valuable for this position. Candidates will be expected to track progress and learning goals, communicate regularly with parents regarding expectations and student development, and provide fun hands-on learning and enrichment activities that spark age-appropriate creativity, problem-solving and curiosity.

Governess/teacher candidates should have a minimum of 5 years professional experience caring for and educating children from newborn through early elementary (prior live-in and extended travel experience working for a private household is preferred) and at least a minimum of 2 years early childhood teaching experience. A BA in early childhood education and/or homeschool experience, and/or a certificate in learner-led teaching (Montessori, Reggio, etc.) is preferred. Must be well-organized and physically fit enough to carry children. Must be able to live at the family’s residence (or nearby) in San Francisco 94131 and travel as needed nationally and internationally up to a few months at a time.
