Teachers To Go is looking for an experienced History teacher to privately teach two advanced students (a boy in 9th grade and a girl in 7th grade) in-person in the afternoon two days a week from 1pm-3pm at their home in Setauket, NY 11733. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right AP history teacher: a part-time position four hours per week that pays $200/hour ($800/week) teaching only two students.
Looking for a qualified AP history teacher (European history expertise is preferred) with extensive classroom experience who is able to write and teach a customized curriculum for two children using books (not online). The right teacher will be engaging and able to either create or recommend a classically-based traditional History curriculum (US, European & World) using physical books. Looking for a teacher who is passionate about history and great with presentation.
The right teacher will be well-read, reliable with good energy, and a great story teller who can share exciting events, memoirs and personal stories that engage and involve the students. Looking for a more traditional teacher when it comes to the curriculum and reading list, but who can make history through older books seem fun and interesting. Qualified candidates should be able to help prep the oldest student for his AP history exam, which will likely be in European history.
Minimum BA and 5 years of professional experience teaching history is required. State certification is preferred. Looking for an experienced history teacher who is flexible, who will collaborate with the parents regarding their preferences, and who is a team player with good communication skills. Requirements: BA with minimum five years experience teaching history is required. Prior experience teaching AP is also required. Prior experience teaching a Classical or other traditional curriculum is preferred, and state certification is preferred. Must be able to write or recommend an existing traditional customized curriculum for two students and find creative ways to make it interesting. Must have your own reliable transportation and cellphone, and must be able to come to the location of the students in Setauket, NY 11733 two days a week (any two days) Monday-Friday for two hours in the afternoon (preferably 1pm-3pm).
