Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person elementary teacher to homeschool a 7 year old boy in 2nd grade at his home in Richmond, VA 23238 (west side near 288 & Hwy 6). This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position teaching just one student Monday-Friday mornings from 9am-1pm that pays $50/hour ($1,000/week). This opportunity is available immediately for the upcoming fall school year.

Looking for an elementary teacher who is patient, dependable, and great with younger children. The right teacher will be able to recommend curriculum or curricula choices and customize in ways that align with the parents’ goals and the student’s interests when appropriate. The parents are willing to collaborate with the teacher about the curriculum, but it must be accredited and align with state standards.

Applicants should be able to teach the regular public school curriculum (if chosen) in a homeschool environment, and be responsible for all homeschool requirements, including assessments, documenting and filing requirements. The right teacher should be comfortable teaching all subjects at least through elementary, and should also be enthusiastic about incorporating some project-based activities. Applicants should have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and current Virginia state teaching license, along with at least two years of teaching experience working with elementary-aged children.

Requirements
Must have a minimum Bachelor’s degree and current Virginia state teaching certification, along with at least 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level. Must have familiarity with recognized K-5th standards, and must be comfortable teaching all core subjects from 1st grade through at least 5th grade in a homeschool environment. Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must travel to the home of the student on the northwest side of Richmond, VA 23238 Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm.
