Teachers To Go is looking for an in-person full-time special education teacher to teach two girls with learning differences (ages 11 & 12) at their faith-based private school in Odessa, FL 33556, Monday-Thursday from 8am-4pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a full-time position with Fridays off in a dedicated classroom for two students that pays $50/hour ($1,500/week). This opportunity is for the current school year, and is expected to start at the beginning of October.

Looking for a teacher who is able to teach and facilitate all core subjects in a dedicated classroom for two girls with ADHD and anxiety-based developmental disorders. The teacher will be the main educator for the girls, but will work with them in their faith-based private school to try to get them caught up closer to grade level. (The girls are at the same level and will be taught together in their own classroom.) The teacher will work to assess and identify educational needs, and teach all subjects using the private school’s curricula. (The teacher can also make suggestions about other curricula and materials that may be helpful.) The teacher will coordinate with teachers and administration, and review progress with the school and the parents.

The right teacher will be patient, kind, loving, understanding and professional. We are looking for a teacher who is encouraging and reactive to each student’s learning differences, who is able to fill in gaps and assist with creating a stronger academic foundation. The teacher should be able to redirect and take quick breaks when appropriate. Looking for a teacher who is reactive to each student's needs, but who can also provide structure with the curriculum used and keep them moving forward. Must be experienced and comfortable working with exceptional students who have ADHD and anxiety. Teacher candidates should have at least a BA/BS, and a minimum of two years professional teaching experience in either a special education or inclusion classroom. State certification is preferred, and prior experience with a faith-based curriculum is a plus, but not required. Teacher candidates should be familiar with implementing IEPs and working with accommodations for learning differences. Requirements
BA/BS plus minimum two years professional teaching experience in either a special education or inclusion classroom is required. State certification and prior experience working with students who have ADHD and anxiety-based developmental disorders is preferred. Prior experience working with faith-based curricula is a plus. Must be comfortable teaching all subjects through the 6th grade level. Must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, and must be available to teach at a private school in Odessa, FL 33556 Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm.
