Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a part-time private homeschool teacher & academic coach for a 12 year old boy to teach in person using his remote school curriculum at his home in Nacogdoches TX 75965. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time private homeschool teaching/tutoring position with just one student Monday-Thursday mornings 8am-12pm that pays $30/hour beginning in August 2023.

Responsibilities include: teaching and guiding the student to learn from his remote school curriculum, coaching and developing his active learning and organization skills, preparing weekly lesson plans and worksheets, coordinating and collaborating with his virtual teachers, supervising and supporting lesson completion and time management, and providing general tutoring as needed.

The right teacher will have a sense of humor and be empathetic as well as collaborative, patient and engaging, and able to redirect the student with positive reinforcement. Looking for a teacher who is intuitive and able to listen, who is reactive to the needs of the student. The right teacher must also be able and willing to learn and work with the student's remote platform and curriculum to understand student expectations, etc.

Requirements

-Minimum 1-3 years of professional teaching or tutoring experience working with students in grades 6-8. Some experience working with students who have mild ADHD is a plus.
-Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must be able to travel to the home of the student in Nacogdoches TX 75965 on Monday-Thursday mornings from 8am-12pm.
-Must be a nonsmoker and must not be allergic to dogs and cats.
