Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a teacher/mentor/academic coach to provide 1-to-1 private homeschool education in-person for a 16 year old girl with an IEP at her home in Waco, TX 76710, so she can eventually graduate. A female teacher is preferred, since the student is female. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time position assisting one student Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm (may be open to other hours as long as every day is the same) that pays $50/hour ($600/week).

Looking for a teacher with either a special education or classroom inclusion background who can create an IEP or use an existing curriculum to teach all subjects 1-to-1 to a 16 year old girl who has ADHD and anxiety. (The parent is open to having the teacher use an existing curriculum, or create/write a customized IEP from scratch.)

The right teacher will be trustworthy, kind, understanding and patient, yet strong-willed enough not to be manipulated. Looking for a teacher who can be a role model and fill the role of an academic mentor/life coach. The right teacher would also enjoy taking the student on occasional outings.

Minimum BA/BS and either special education or classroom inclusion experience is required, minimum one year professional full-time high school teaching experience is preferred. Must be comfortable assisting high school-aged students with multiple subjects who have learning and/or psychological difficulties. Teacher should be able to write or create an IEP, and/or use other appropriate existing curricula.

Requirements: must have at least a BA and some prior teaching experience working with high school-aged students with special needs or learning differences. Full-time professional high school teacher experience is preferred. Must be willing to collaborate with the parent and provide regular updates, must have your own reliable transportation and cell phone, must be willing to travel to the home of the student in Waco TX 76710 Monday-Thursday from 9am-12pm (or other times three hours per day), must be willing to interview via live video chat and in person in Waco TX 76710.
