Full Job Description

Teachers To Go is looking for a part-time private homeschool teacher for two girls (ages 10 & 12) to teach in person at their home in Tyler TX 75703 using their Christian school curriculum. If you are an experienced, loving but firm, late elementary or early middle school teacher who has experience teaching all subjects (including to students who have ADHD), you may be the right fit. This is a great opportunity for the right teacher: a part-time private homeschool teaching position beginning in the fall on Mondays from 3:45-5:45pm and Wednesdays & Fridays from 12:30-4:30pm that pays $50/hour. (Possible option to add additional hours on Tuesday and/or Thursday, and begin earlier during the summer for some summer school if/when available.) A female teacher is preferred, since the students are female.

Responsibilities include teaching and guiding the children to learn from their Christian school curriculum, keeping the students on track and making sure they complete their work, delivering engaging supplemental teaching to get the girls excited about learning, reviewing topics and assignments and communicating with their Christian school teachers, and reacting and adopting education to the individual child.

The right teacher will be engaging, loving but firm, motivating, interesting, creative and able to get respect from the kids. Looking for a teacher who can build on each student's strengths, who has good communication skills and works well as a team with the parents and other teachers. Teacher candidates should have BA or BS, and a minimum of two years of professional teaching experience in an elementary or middle school classroom, as well as some experience working with students who have ADHD.
