Teachers To Go is looking for an elementary Mandarin language teacher (traditional Mandarin Chinese only) who will come in-person M/W/F to teach two children at their home near Memorial & Voss in 77024. The job will require teaching traditional Mandarin language (speaking, reading and writing) to 2 students (a boy in 1st grade and a girl in Kindergarten) and providing Mandarin immersion that supports expressive and written fluency, while team teaching with the lead elementary teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity for the right Mandarin teacher: an elementary language immersion position Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 10am-3pm with some additional flexible admin time on Thursdays that pays $70/hour ($1260/week overall average 18 hours).

Must be tech-savvy, with BA and prior experience teaching elementary-aged children, and also have a minimum of 2 years prior traditional Mandarin teaching experience. (Prior experience creating and writing curricula is a plus, as is prior experience working with multi-sensory materials and young gifted students.) The right teacher will be organized but flexible, engaging, and able to teach traditionally (bo po mo fo) through rote memorization, but also using story books and creative learning as well.

Looking for a teacher who is a team player who can teach math in Chinese, and work with the other current elementary teacher on greater coordinated themes. Familiarity with Classical and Charlotte Mason educational philosophies and Christian worldview curricula is a plus. (The family has a Mandarin curriculum/plan and entire collection/library of materials, but are open to teacher's suggestions and additions to supplement their curriculum as well.)

Looking for a teacher who is computer/tech-savvy, and able to work spreadsheets and other standard computer applications for daily online administration and tasks. Must be willing to learn the parent's organization system, and have good technological communication and organization skills.

Must be willing to collaborate and work with the family's other elementary teacher and the parent. Must have your own reliable transportation & cell phone, and must be able to travel to the home of the client near Voss & I-10 in 77024 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am-3pm.
